Radium auto upgrade#
Single pump applications can reuse the OEM fuel pump controller wiring, but it is recommended to upgrade the OEM wiring as high flow fuel pumps draw additional current requiring thicker gauge wire. Also included are 2 mating connectors for the sensors making the kit easily serviceable. The collector box also permits a mounting solution for the OEM fuel level and fuel temperature sensors. The duckbill valve prevents back flow and reduces fuel slosh noise. Furthermore, all returning fuel from the pressure regulator return and the crossover hose enter the collector box through a one-way duckbill valve keeping it full. There is a 1" check valve incorporated on the front side of the tank that serves as a trap door keeping the pump(s) supplied with fuel during aggressive driving. This container helps prevents fuel starvation. The kit also includes an anodized aluminum collector box that sits at the bottom of the OEM fuel tank. When fuel pump flow is increased, the OEM jet pump becomes too restrictive creating unwanted backpressure in the FPR return line causing excessive fuel rail pressure. Without a properly designed jet pump, fuel cannot be properly transferred from the passive side of the OEM saddle bag fuel tank to the active side where the pump(s) reside. The kit includes Radium's own venturi jet pump with interchangeable orifices.

Four -6AN male fittings (2 pump outlets, 1 return, 1 crossover) simplify aftermarket -AN hose plumbing. Two electrical bulkhead connectors are included one for pump power, the other for the level sensor and fuel temp sensor. Fast forward to 2015 and they decide to make a legit business out of it and go full time. After a few years, he decided to start making totally unrelated parts on the side and unofficially started Radium Engineering. His new job was to design and manufacture parts for BMW’s. A few years passed and he received a job offer from HP Freaks in Oregon.
Radium auto series#
After a few weeks went by, he received a voicemail from AEM and ended up getting an interview! He landed the job and began development on their first ECU which became known as the AEM Series 1. He mailed a copy of his resume all over the country to various parts manufacturers in hopes of landing a job. During college, he decided that he wanted to work in the aftermarket automotive industry.

After feeling zero performance gains, he decided to bolt on a turbo kit which really woke the car up! From here on out, he became addicted to performance. When he graduated high school in 1995, he bought a Honda Civic and started to modify it with an intake and some headers. JP spent his early years skating and building ramps. Jeremy Powell (aka JP) grew up in Florida and his family couldn’t care less about the car culture.
